20 x magnification of the bones in the middle ear (ossicula auditus)
20 x magnification of the bones in the middle ear (ossicula auditus)
If you are looking for a model that shows in detail the smallest bones in the human body, namely the bones of the middle ear, we recommend this one.
The model is enlarged 20 times, has the dimensions 17 x 12 x 21 cm (width x length x height) and weighs 0.358 kg.
The three bones are held together by small nails, and can be separated by removing these. The model is delivered on a white stand, which is also removable. This makes it possible to study the bones very closely.
Anatomical features
Anatomical features
Anatomically, the model shows a very accurate representation of the three small bones malleus (hammer), incus (anvil) and stapes (stirrup), which are located in the middle ear.
The model gives a good insight into how the interconnections of the three bones are used to transmit sound from the outer to the inner ear.
