If you are looking for a practical, illustrative and educational birth model to explain birth and related issues, this model is ideal. It is mainly bought by midwives and midwifery students.


The model is knitted in 100% pure wool, which is soft and easy to work with. Its colors are blue & brown. It weighs next to nothing and is very durable.


NB: A fetal doll as shown in the one picture on the left is not included.


Our range of pregnancy models includes a fetal doll with placenta (placenta) and umbilical cord (as well as chorion and amnion), which is aimed at birth preparation. The fetal doll fits exactly to this birth model in wool. Several of our customers choose this combination for birth preparation and birth demonstration.

Anatomical features

Anatomically, the model shows the uterus (uterus), the cervix (cervix uteri) and the vagina (vagina).



In terms of size, the model is not true to life, because without a doll the uterus appears much, much larger than the vagina. On the other hand, the uterus appears almost pear-shaped (without a forster doll in it), which is reminiscent of the realistic shape of the uterus.

Clinical features

As for births, the model in combination with a fetal doll can be used for demonstration and understanding of many different conditions. They include, among other things:



The movements of the fetus that help it come down through the birth canal
The relationship between contractions (labor) and the dilation of the cervix
The vagina functions as a muscular tube that can expand
The different positions (e.g. back-head position, breech birth and stargazing)
Fetal reversal
The birth of the placenta in the "afterbirth period"
