Collection: Heart models and the vascular system

In our selection of heart models, you can choose between models that are reduced, made in natural size or enlarged. There are also heart models with the impulse conduction system, models with the result after a bypass operation (CABG/coronary bypass), models with a focus on the heart valves and models with surrounding organs (e.g. esophagus and trachea). We also have special hearts in the form of a fetal heart and a heart with hypertrophy of the left ventricle.

Heart models are mainly used for understanding the anatomy of the heart as well as clinical aspects such as diseases, examinations and treatment.

Anatomically, the heart includes many structures. With a heart model in hand, you can study atria and ventricles (atria and heart chambers) with details such as papillary muscles, AV and sac valves (e.g. aortic valve), foramen ovale and coronary sinus. In addition, some models include the impulse conduction system (the electrical conduction system of the heart) with important structures such as the sinus node, the AV node (atrioventricular node), and the crus dextrum and sinistrum.

As far as blood vessels are concerned, it is also easier to distinguish between the coronary circulation and the large, central vessels. For example, you can study the RCA, LAD and CX as well as the aorta (body artery), truncus pulmonalis (pulmonary artery/pulmonary artery) and vv. pulmonales (pulmonary veins).

Clinically speaking, a heart model can be used to understand quite a few diseases in the various tissues/structures of the heart. It can be, for example, inflammation of the heart (pericarditis, myocarditis or endocarditis) or diseases of the valve systems (e.g. narrowed aortic valve/aortic stenosis or leaky mitral valve/mitral insufficiency).

In terms of investigations and treatment, heart models can be used to understand CAG, PCI (balloon dilation) as well as ultrasound scanning/ECG, bypass surgery (CABG/coronary bypass) and radiofrequency ablation.

In our selection of models that show the vascular system (blood circulation/cardiovascular system), you will find a vascular model that shows atherosclerosis (atherosclerosis) in arteries and a complete model of the entire vascular system.
