Anatomical model of atlas and axis with extremely realistic bone tissue

Anatomically, the model shows the 1st and 2nd cervical vertebra, which are also called respectively atlas (C1) and axis (C2). Therefore, the model shows the lower neck joint (articulatio atlantoaxialis), which includes both the medial hinge joint and the 2 lateral gliding joints.



The bone quality is impressive. The model is a lifelike cast of the bones of a man who measures 180 cm in height. All important surfaces, protrusions, small dents etc. are seen very clearly.

In terms of movement, the model is very flexible. You can thus demonstrate movements in the joint, which are primarily "shaking the head".
