Model of i.a. spinal stenosis and herniated disc with replaceable discs
Model of i.a. spinal stenosis and herniated disc with replaceable discs
This model shows both spinal stenosis, disc herniation and spondylolysis.
The model is produced in SOMSO plastic by the manufacturer SOMSO, which is world-renowned for very high quality. This means quality materials, a sense of accuracy and longevity.
The model is produced in natural size. It weighs 0.5 kg and the dimensions are
15 x 14 x 13 cm (length x width x height). It can be separated into 10 parts.
Anatomical features
Anatomical features
Anatomically, the model shows 2 lumbar vertebrae and therefore the two most important joint types in the spinal column, which are the symphyses (disci/band discs) between the vertebral bodies and the facet joints, which are sliding joints between the vertebrae's pivots. Overall, the bone quality is very good, and therefore, for example, knots and depressions in the bone tissue are clearly visible. Furthermore, spinal nerves are seen.
The model also includes different discs, which allow for the demonstration of different types of disc herniation. Spinal stenosis and spondylolysis may also be demonstrated.
Product flexibility
Product flexibility
In terms of movement, this model is not flexible. It cannot be moved at all and therefore cannot be used to demonstrate the movements of the spine.
The model, on the other hand, can be separated into 10 parts, and the different discs can be inserted between the vertebrae. In this way, the various disorders and their consequences can be demonstrated.
Clinical features
Clinical features
Clinically, as mentioned, this model has been developed for understanding spinal stenosis, various types of disc herniation and spondylolysis.
However, the model can also be used to understand other disorders such as spondylosis, osteoarthritis, fractures etc.
