This model shows the tissue changes in chronic bronchitis and asthma in a very practical way.

The model weighs 0.2 kg and the dimensions are approximately 10 x 3.8 x 4.5 cm. The model shows 4 cut surfaces/pieces which can be rotated in relation to each other but not separated. It is held together by plastic.

A map with an overview in English is included, where the anatomical structures of the model are named via pictures and lines. The overview includes extremely concise descriptions of the diseases and important symptoms/genes (see the pictures on the left).

Anatomical features

Anatomically speaking, the model shows 4 cross-sections of a bronchus (airway) from the lungs, where the consequences of chronic bronchitis and asthma are illustrated. The 4 sections show cross-sections of the lumen (where the air passes) and the bronchial wall with, among other things, the mucosa closest to the lumen, glands, cells and musculature.

The 4 cut surfaces are held together using green plastic, where it is written what the individual cut surfaces show (see the pictures on the left).

Clinical features

Clinically speaking, the model has been developed for understanding the tissue changes in chronic bronchitis and asthma.
