This shoulder model shows the main muscles and ligaments of the shoulder. The model is life size.

An information card is included in a size roughly equivalent to A5. The card shows a picture of the model and lines between the Latin names and the model's muscles.

The model is delivered on a removable stand, and the information card can be mounted on the stand.

Anatomical features

Anatomically speaking, the shoulder model shows part of the humerus, shoulder blade and clavicle - therefore also the shoulder joint and the acromioclavicular joint. The model also shows the 4 muscles of the rotator cuff (also called the rotator cuff):

m. subscapularis, m. supraspinatus, m. infraspinatus and m. teres minor.

Furthermore, the model shows some of the ligaments of the shoulder and part of the long biceps tendon from m. biceps brachii.

Product flexibility

In terms of movement, the joint model is not flexible and therefore cannot be used to demonstrate the various movements in the shoulder. The mentioned muscles cannot be removed either.

Clinical features

Clinically, the model is ideal for understanding impingement syndrome, rotator cuff injury and biceps tendinitis. It can also be used to understand disorders such as frozen shoulder, osteoarthritis (wear and tear) in the acromioclavicular joint and shoulder instability. It can of course also be used to understand fractures, dislocations and sprains.
