This anthropological skull is cast after a reconstruction of two different finds, but of the same species which is believed to be Australopithecus boisei or Paranthropus boisei. Both finds are believed to be 1.7 million years old and the debate over the classification of the species continues to this day.

The skull measures 18 x 18 x 22.5 cm cm and weighs approximately 1.31 kg. It is delivered on a stand showing a map of the area where the two original parts, the lower jaw and the rest of the skull, were found.

Like other anthropological skulls, this skull is also produced from scientific copies of specimens from the collection of the "Institute of Anthropology and Human Genetics for Biologists" at the Johann-Wolfgang-Goethe University, Frankfurt/Main, Germany.

It must be added that the original skull (of which this model is a cast) consists of the Cranial part calvarium which is also called; KMN-ER 406, as well as the lower jaw mandible which is also called; Omo L. 7a-125. Both discoveries were made near Lake Rudolph (now called Lake Turkana), Kenya, in 1970.
