Anthropological skull of Homo erectus pekinensi (Sinanthropus pekinensis)

This anthropological skull is cast from a reconstruction of the skull of a Homo erectus pekinensis (Sinanthropus pekinensis) human, which is believed to be approximately 400,000 years old. The cast was made, cf. illustrations by Black and Weidenreich, after the original bones were lost.

The skull measures 21 x 14.5 x 21.5 cm cm and weighs approximately 1.2 kg. It comes on a stand showing a map of the area where the original skull was found.

Like other anthropological skulls, this skull is also produced from scientific copies of specimens from the collection of the "Institute of Anthropology and Human Genetics for Biologists" at the Johann-Wolfgang-Goethe University, Frankfurt/Main, Germany.

It should be added that the original skull (of which this model is a cast) was found in Zhoukoudian 40 km southwest of Peking, China, 1929-1936.
