Collection: Hand models

Anatomical hand models include both hand skeletons, hand models with muscles, vessels and nerves and models that illustrate special conditions such as Carpal tunnel syndrome. Hand models are often very detailed because the anatomy of the hand is complex, with many nerves and vascular branches combined with a myriad of small muscles. These models are particularly popular in operating rooms and in anatomy teaching within medicine, massage and physiotherapy.

A hand model is also called a plastic hand or a finger model. In our selection, you can choose between complete hand models with many tissues and hand skeletons that only show bones or bones with ligaments.

Our complete hand models are very detailed. They show, for example, the 4 groups of skeletal muscles of the hand, which are called the muscle group of the ball of the thumb (in thenar), the muscle group of the ball of the little finger (in hypethenar), etc. lumbricales (the central muscle group) and etc. interossei (the interosseous muscles). Other things are also seen, such as the aponeurosis palmaris (fascia palmaris), the extensor tendons, the extensor retinaculum, the flexor tendons to the fingers which run through the carpal tunnel (canalis carpi) and nerves such as the median nerve and the ulnar nerve.

Our hand skeletons are relatively simple and show the bones in the hand (ossa manus). They primarily show the finger bones (phalanges), the metacarpal bones, the metacarpal bones, as well as all or parts of the ulna (elbow bone) and radius (spinal bone). Therefore, you also see wrist and finger joints including MCP joints (knuckles), PIP joints and DIP joints. The hand skeletons with ligaments are also detailed. One of these shows the carpal tunnel with contents.

Clinically speaking, the hand model can be used to understand, for example, carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS), wrist tendinitis, trigger finger (trigger finger/digitus saltans) and ligament injuries.
