Are you looking for a knee model that is both extremely flexible and shows the knee's most important muscles and ligaments? In that case, we would highly recommend this large and impressive model.

The model weighs 1.75 kg and the dimensions are 33 x 17 x 17 cm. The muscles are colored in red, which is the dominant color of the model. Red color is effective in attracting attention, which increases the educational purpose of the model. Supplied on a white stand.

Anatomically speaking

Anatomically, the knee model shows part of the thigh bone (femur), part of the shin bone (tibia), part of the calf bone (fibula), the kneecap (patella) and both menisci in the knee joint. Wha. rubber, the model also shows all the most important ligaments that belong to the knee joint. Cartilage-covered joint surfaces can also be seen in light blue.

The model also shows the muscles that belong to the different muscle groups of the thigh and lower leg (including the hamstrings and the rear muscle group of the lower leg). Red and blue color on the bones indicate their origin and attachment.

Flexibility

In terms of movement, the articulated model is extremely flexible and can be separated into 12 parts. The muscles can thus be detached, after which the joint can be moved freely to demonstrate movements such as flexion and rotation.

Since the kneecap with both tendons and ligaments (quadriceps tendon and lig. patellae) can be completely removed, the interior of the knee joint with cruciate ligaments and menisci can be studied easily and conveniently.

Clinically speaking

Clinically speaking, the model is ideal for understanding a great many disorders - for example anserinus tendinitis, runner's knee and osteoarthritis of the knee (knee osteoarthritis). It is also ideal for understanding ligament injuries (especially injuries to the cruciate and collateral ligaments), meniscal lesions, mice, patellar luxation (slippage of the kneecap), patellar fractures and proximal knee fractures.

The model can perhaps also be used to understand disorders such as rheumatoid arthritis and swimmer's knee.
