Are you looking for a hip model that is both flexible and shows the hip's most important muscles and ligaments? If so, we would highly recommend this one.

The model weighs 1.9 kg and shows the hip joint in natural size. The dimensions are 18 x 32 x 18 cm. The muscles are colored in red, which is the dominant color of the model. Red color is effective in attracting attention, which increases the educational purpose of the model. Supplied on a white stand.

Anatomical features

Anatomically, the model shows the iliac bone, ischium, pubic bone and the femoral head with the femoral neck and part of the femur. The model also shows a hint of the ligaments that belong to the hip joint.

Furthermore, the model shows cartilage-covered joint surfaces in light blue, several muscles as well as color markings for other muscles in the region (in red and darker blue on bones).

Product flexibility

In terms of movement, the articulated model is flexible and can be separated into 7 parts. Muscles that are represented on the model can thus be removed, after which the femur can be moved freely to demonstrate movements such as abduction and rotation.

Clinical features

Clinically, the model is ideal for understanding osteoarthritis (wear and tear) and intra-articular sprains. It can also be used to understand disorders such as piriformis syndrome, external hip impingement, internal impingement hip, luxation (joint slippage) and fractures.
